Hi everyone!

A lot has changed since I start my early childhood music enrichment business back in 2015. If you don't mind indulging me for a minute as I reminisce for a moment (and fill in new followers!), I'll go over what has been happening.

I started my business in 2015. I was a new mum and looking for a way to keep teaching, because it was

Music is a crucial part of what makes us human?

11/22/2019

Did you know that music is a crucial part of what makes us human? We are all born musical. We are wired that way. Music is embedded within us and somehow it gets "taught out of us" throughout our early years and our schooling years. Some children grow up without opportunities to nurture their musical intelligence. This is devastating to me...

Here are a few articles and videos that I have found useful when researching about how music impacts brain development in the early years and beyond.

So when I tell people I teach babies (and preschool aged children) there is a lot of confusion about how you teach music to babies. I like to refer to it as how you 'do music' with babies and young children. So here's what we do...

I was recently reading an article by the National Association for Music Education. Click here to read it yourself. They list beliefs about young children and musically appropriate musical experiences and I'd like to explore some of them here.

"All children have musical potential. Every child has the potential for successful, meaningful interactions with music."

I've commented on this before, but I definitely believe that all children are wired to love and enjoy music and all children have musical potential. I have had the privilege of being part of the musical journey of many families and never ceases to bring warmth to my heart when I see children's response to classical music. They just love it!

This article also lists some qualities of the adults in charge of providing these musical experiences to young children. "These persons should:

How to nurture your child's musical aptitude at home

7/12/2016

Research shows that ALL children are born with musical aptitude, and following that thought, everyone has the potential to achieve in music. It's time to dispel the myth that you've either got it or you don't. Today, I'm going to help you with what to do from here: how can we as parents and carers of children nurture their musical development and help them make their own music (or make music their own)?
